Hi I'm Andy Knight and this is my blog about a crazy year long challenge I have set myself.
By doing a different endurance challenge each month I hope to raise awareness and money for Springboard Opportunity Group who do
great work with disabled children and provide amazing support for their families.

Challenge 12 the final event is now confirmed!

It's taken longer than I had hoped to sort but I can now confirm the that final challenge in this epic year will take place on Saturday 14 December at the Borough Parade Shopping Centre in Chippenham.

That's right in the home town of Springboard Opportunity Group.

The challenge...well it's going to be a static event where I will be rowing the equivalent of the channel and back..that's right 42miles...on a rowing machine...in one day!

I'm hoping that on the day I will be cheered on by the wonderful people at Springboard and I couldn't wish for a better way to finish the challenge!

I'd like to thank Halogen UK, who manage the shopping centre, for making this happen especially so close to Christmas!

So the training will now take a new direction as running and cycling isn't going to be enough to get me through this gruelling task, I think there will be many a night rowing in front of the TV over the next few months!

More is in you!

So it's been nearly a month since my last blog update and the reason for that was the small (obviously not my toes) issue of gout which has had a massive impact on my challenge.

It has meant that I have not trained for over a month now and that I missed the scheduled seventh Challenge. But fear not my average joe followers all is not lost!

Although I'm still not fully recovered I'm hoping to be back training later this week which I'm sure will be a shock to the system.

What about the missed challenge I hear you cry....well I now plan to take part in the Essex 100 on 1 September so that I still complete 12 challenges.

So this now means I will be doing the Coast to Coast event on 17 August, then the Essex 100 on 1 September then the London Duathlon on 15 September.

It has been both a frustrating time but also a good time as I have been able to see a lot more of my family.

I don't think I really appreciated how much time away from the family all the training and competing would take so as I start to ease myself back into it I need to reevaluate my schedule to build more family time in.

As I've said it's also been a frustrating time and one of the ways to focus my mind was watching you tube and in particular 2 very inspirational individuals, Eddie Izzard and James Cracknell.

Just watching them made me more determined than ever and I can't wait to get back out there and show that there's 'More in me' as I aim to 'Be my best'!
